Great news for Yuru Camp fans: The Laid-Back Camp anime series is getting a third season!
The revelation, accompanied by a celebratory illustration by Yurukyan mangaka Afro (see above) was made on October 22, 2022.
Obviously, it’s too early to speculate about the Yuru Camp Season 3 release date as the cat was just let out of the bag!
We’ll keep you promptly posted as new information is becoming available.
On top of two anime series seasons, Laid-Back Camp also received an anime film adaptation; Yuru Camp: Movie premiered on July 1 in Japan and exceeded 650,000 attendees on August 15, when an ‘appreciation video’ was released to mark the occasion (see below).
Yuru Camp Season 1 aired in 2018, while Season 2 followed in 2021. In between, a spin-off series titled Room Camp was broadcast (2020). The movie focuses on the Laid-Back Camp characters as adults. A live-action drama based on the Yuru Camp manga series aired in 2020 and 2021 (two seasons).
The franchise is having a field day, so it’s only natural to follow up with a third anime season.

About the Yuru Camp manga
Laid-Back Camp (ゆるキャン△, Yurukyan) started off as a manga by Afro in 2015. The series is still ongoing. Originally serialized in the seinen magazine Manga Time Kirara Forward (2015 to 2019), Yuru Camp has since moved to the COMIC FUZ app.
It’s currently being published under the Manga Time KR Comics label. As of March 2022, the individual chapters have been collected into 13 tankōbon volumes.
Yen Press has licensed the series for an English-language release and has published 12 Volumes as of September 27, 2022.
As for the plot, the manga title should be indicative enough. Laid-Back Camp is a representative example of the iyashikei genre: it’s wholesome and… laid-back!

The franchise inspired two video games in 2021: a VR video game (Laid-Back Camp Virtual: Fumoto Campsite) and a visual novel by MAGES (Laid-Back Camp: Have a Nice Day).
