With only days left until the season premieres on October 9th, 2022, Yowamushi Pedal: Limit Break has released its first full trailer! Needless to say, things are looking pretty intense!
The latest installment in the franchise, Yowamushi Pedal Season 5, was confirmed earlier this year. Since then, the official website and Twitter page have been actively promoting the anime with new key visuals and promotional videos.
Considering it’s been almost four years since Yowamushi Pedal Season 4 of the series, Yowamushi Pedal: Glory Line, first premiered, fans are surely excited to see more content from their favorite high school cycling team. Along with promotions, the opening and ending songs have also been revealed as well. Fans have definitely had quite a few treats to get them excited for this season!
How do I catch up in time for Yowamushi Pedal: Limit Break?
There are still four days to catch up on any Yowamushi Pedal you’ve missed before the new season drops. However, if you’re starting from square one, you might be surprised and even overwhelmed by the sheer amount of Yowamushi Pedal content already out there.
Yowamushi Pedal the anime series has four seasons out so far. In order, they are Yowamushi Pedal, Yowamushi Pedal: Grande Road, Yowamushi Pedal: New Generation, and Yowamushi Pedal: Glory Line. All of these seasons follow the same continuous story of Onoda and his friends. I would suggest watching all of them before starting Limit Break.
The Yowamushi Pedal movies are a little different. Yowamushi Pedal: Re: RIDE, Yowamushi Pedal: Re: ROAD, and Yowamushi Pedal: Re: GENERATION are all recap movies, that retell the stories of previous seasons while sometimes adding new content. The new content can be helpful but doesn’t take away from the anime-watching experience.
Yowamushi Pedal: The Movie, however, is not a recap and should be watched between seasons 2 and 3 for the best continuity. There is also the Yowamushi Pedal: Spare Bike spin-off movie that really could be watched at any time after finishing the first season and getting introduced to the third years, whom the movie follows.
Regardless of how far you are in your watch journey, there is plenty of quality Yowamushi Pedal content to consume out there.
What is Yowamushi Pedal about?
If you’ve never seen Yowamushi Pedal before, you’re probably wondering what it’s about.
The series, based on the manga of the same name, centers around Sakamichi Onoda, an otaku with hopes of joining his new high school’s anime club. However, after finding it’s been disbanded, he seeks to find four new members to get the club reinstated. During his quest to find members, he runs into Imaizumi Shunsuke, an aspiring member of the cycling club with a strong vendetta against another biker.
It’s this chance encounter that sends Onoda down a path he wasn’t expecting, as his own years of cycling uphill to school have made him something of a remarkable biker himself. While he’s reluctant to get involved at first, it isn’t long before he finds himself being drawn back to the cycling club. He’s never been serious about the sport, but without any other outlets, Onoda joins the club, and little does he know, he might just have the skills to help them win the biggest competition of the year!
Any sports anime fan will surely enjoy this unique entry into the genre!
