On Valentine’s Day of this year, the creators of Teasing Master Takagi-san announced that the Teasing Master Takagi-san movie release date is set for the early summer of 2022.
This announcement comes after the premiere of Teasing Master Takagi-san Season 3 of the series in January of this year.
Teasing Master Takagi-san is a manga serialized in Gessen that follows the budding romance of two middle schoolers that sit next to each other in class, with the aforementioned Takagi-san always taking the upper hand over the rather stubborn Nishikata as the two duke it out while denying their feelings for each other.
The anime first premiered in January of 2018, with its second season airing a year after that from July to August of 2019. The third season covers the remainder of their time together in middle school.
What is the plot of the new Takagi-san movie?
As of yet, the plot of the new Takagi-san movie has not been revealed. However, the trailer reads “Summer’s about to start,” implying that the events of the movie could cover the summer break of Takagi-san and Nishikata. Perhaps the film could function as a beach episode between the two in the vein of Non Non Biyori the Movie: Vacation, as is tradition for anime titles in the slice of life genre. It seems to be a movie-original plot, but this could change as Takagi-san has had summer vacation chapters in the past.

The manga’s trajectory massively changes following the end of the infamous 31st chapter, which chooses to focus on married life between Takagi-san, Nishikata, and their daughter.
While Teasing Master Takagi-san Season 3 of the anime hasn’t yet finished airing, it’s entirely possible that the third season of the show will choose to end on a preview of their life together, or that the show will forgo all subtleties and begin adapting the spinoff series, (Former) Teasing Master Takagi-san, as part of the main canon or alongside the existing series.
