A new key visual for Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire has been released ahead of its January 2023 premiere.
It was also announced that Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire will premiere in January 2023 on TV Tokyo and BS TV Tokyo. Crunchyroll will simulcast the show as it airs.
The anime was first announced in November 2021, and in March 2022 its main cast and staff were revealed. In July 2022, the anime released its first trailer PV revealing an additional cast.
Along with the key visual (see below), three additional cast members were also announced, including:
- Haruka Shiraishi as Eris
- Eri Kitamura as Sistia Rouge
- Naomi Ozora as Ripple

The main cast includes:
- Tomori Kusunoki as Leone Olfa

Naoyuki Kuzuya is directing the anime at Studio Comet. Mitsutaka Hirota is in charge of series scripts. Reiichiro Ofuji is designing the characters, with Tomoko Miyakawa, Rion Matsuda, and Maki Fukui as sub-character designers. Kenta Higashiohji is composing the music.

Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire is also known in Japan as Eiyuuou, Bu wo Kiwameru Tame Tenseisu: Soshite, Sekai Saikyou no Minarai Kishi. The anime is based on the light novel series of the same name written by Hayaken and illustrated by Nagu.
The series was first serialized on the user-generated novel publishing website Shosetsuka ni Naro but was later acquired by Hobby Japan. A total of seven volumes have been published under their HJ Bunko imprint to date.
J-Novel Club has licensed the Novel series for English publication in North America. They have released five volumes to date.
Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire also received a manga adaptation with art by Moto Kuromura. The manga has been serialized online via Hobby Japan’s Comic Fire website since December 2019. Its chapters have been compiled into three tankobon volumes.
J-Novel Club has also licensed the manga for English publication in North America. They have released two volumes to date.
A two-episode mini-anime adaptation was also released on Comic Fire’s Twitter account in November 2020.
