The ONIMAI: I’m Now Your Sister! release date is in January 2023, the Winter 2023 anime season.
The anime was first announced back in April 2021, along with the information on the main staff, cast, and a key visual.
The ONIMAI: I’m Now Your Sister! trailer PV depicts the moment Mahiro wakes up and finds out that he has turned into a girl! The trailer also introduces us to the main cast and reveals two additional cast members:
Hisako Kanemoto (Erina Nakiri in Shokugeki no Souma) as Kaede Hozuki, Mihari’s junior high school classmate. And Minami Tsuda (Shu Ouma in Guilty Crown) as Momiji Hozuki, Kaede’s younger sister.

Cast and staff
Kaori Ishihara, who plays Shouta Magatsuchi in Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, will play the role of Mihari Oyama, and Marika Kouno, who plays Rin Kohana in the 2015 anime series Seiyu’s life!, will play the role of Mahiro Oyama.
The ONIMAI: I’m Now Your Sister! Anime is the series directorial debut for director Shingo Fujii. Michiko Yokote is in charge of the series scripts, and Ryo Imamura is designing the characters.
Studio Bind handles animation production for the series. This is Studio Bind’s second major anime production project after Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. Studio Bind has already announced that they’re working on Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2, and Mushoku Tensei Season 3 is reportedly greenlit for production internally.

ONIMAI: I’m Now Your Sister! Or Oniichan wa Oshimai! Anime is based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Nekotofu. The manga is currently serialized in Ichijinsha’s Monthly Comic Rex.
As of April 2022, Ichijinsha has released six tankobon volumes of the manga. Kodansha USA is publishing the series in English in North America.
What is the plot of ONIMAI: I’m Now Your Sister!? The genderbending comedy follows Mahiro Oyama, a shut-in erotic-game-loving dude. One day he wakes up to find out that he has turned into a girl! It turns out that his sister, Mihari Oyama, used a suspicious drug on her brother to turn him into a girl. What will be the fate of the “former” brother? Only time will tell.
