This month answered the call of countless My Dress-Up Darling fans with an anime sequel confirmation!
The official announcement did not specify the format of the sequel. However, it’s very likely to be My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 since the Sono Bisque Doll anime producer was tweeting about “Season 2” being unplanned and how much work that means for him.
A PV Aniplex’s YouTube channel also showcases some of the best moments of season 1 and hints at where the sequel is headed. Such as will Marin confesses her love to Gojo properly and what kind of cosplays will we see next? If you haven’t read the manga, there will be light spoilers in this news story.
What to expect in the Sono Bisque Doll sequel
Although the details are unknown, we can use the first season and the manga to see what’s coming. Not to mention the lovely illustration by the series creator, Shinichi Fukuda, and the presence of Shizuku everywhere, as masks and on Gojo’s and Marin’s shirts.
Season 1 was 12 episodes that covered the first 40 chapters of the manga. So, if My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 also has 12 episodes, we should get another 40 chapters worth of content.
Except it would be an illegal cliffhanger to end it in chapter 79! We will see a wonderful mix of classic school antics that lets us get to know some of Marin and Gojo’s classmates and teachers.
There’s also more advice on making different kinds of cosplays, and we see more on the pre-made cosplay scene! Old characters return, and new characters to show our favorite lovebirds the joys and challenges of crossplay.
But most importantly, character development will be present! Gojo is still affected by his childhood friends’ harsh words.
But he grows enough to want to help others who went through the same thing. And whenever it feels like he’s about to lose progress, someone is there.
Gender means nothing when it comes to passion. And there’s no wrong way to cosplay. It’s okay if you have to buy your cosplay instead of making one.
Your gender and body type don’t dictate which characters you can cosplay because, odds are, you’re going to fall in love with a character that’s nothing like you.
Rules are meant to be followed until you find your groove
During Marin’s first cosplay event, we can see different types of rules in place. Always ask for permission before taking a picture.
Make sure you dress for the weather and take breaks when you need them. And drink lots of water. But the manga isn’t done giving out advice.
Makeup, glue, tape, and more will be your friend, so keep some on you. If you want to crossplay, try to imitate the opposite gender as much as possible.
You don’t have to shave your eyebrows like Marin, but sometimes a little touch is all you need. If you’d like to read my thoughts on season 1, click here!
