Fans of the manga More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers will be excited to know things with the anime series are progressing. 

Today, the Fuukoi anime released a new visual for the show featuring a look at its two main characters: Akari Watanabe and Jirou Yakuin.

The official website for the series also debuted today, as well as an official Twitter page

Along with the new visual, they also revealed the staff members who will be bringing the manga adaptation to life. 

What is the More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers anime release date?

As of right now, no official release dates for More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers have been released yet. 

However, there are eight volumes of manga available for fans to catch up with until then. 

The manga has been serialized by Young Ace, a monthly magazine published by Kadokawa, since 2018. The anime series will be produced by studio MOTHER. 

What will the series be about?

If you’ve never read the manga for More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers, you may be wondering what the premise of the story is. 

Based on the manga by Yuki Kanamaru, the series follows Jirou Yakuin. He’s a third-year student with a crush on a girl named Shiori Sakurazaka. He had hoped to be paired with her during his school’s mandatory couples training course where students are graded on their ability to cooperate and perform tasks in pretend marriage arrangements. 

Instead, he gets partnered with Akari Watanabe, a girl who couldn’t be more different from him. 

When Akari’s crush, Minami Tenjin, ends up being partnered with Shiori, Jirou and Akari see this as an opportunity. They agree to work together in hopes of doing well enough to earn the right to switch partners later and end up with their actual crushes. 

Who will be a part of the series staff?

Along with the visual, the staff behind the anticipated series was also announced. 

Junichi Yamamoto will direct the series. Fans may recognize his name from other works such as Armor Shop for Ladies & Gentlemen and Ninja Batman. 

The script will be handled by Naruhisa Arakawa. He is known for penning scripts for other popular anime like Spice and Wolf and Dragon Ball Z. 

Character design will be done by Chizuru Kobayashi, who previously worked on the series Pandora Hearts. 

Naoko Akuzawa will serve as the art director. Their work can be seen in anime such as Persona 4 The Animation and Fireworks. 

Wrapping up the staff will be Misato Takahata as cinematographer, Ichiro Chaen as editor, and Akatsuki Nagasaka on color design.
