After several weeks of speculation over a new project, the Kaguya-sama: Love is War movie has been announced!
With the success of recent feature films from series like Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen, it’s no wonder Kaguya-sama: Love is War is getting in on this trend. The film, which will be titled Kaguya-sama: Love is War: -The First Kiss Never Ends- (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: First Kiss wa Owaranai), was first teased via Twitter on June 24, 2022.
At the time, with Season 3: Ultra Romantic just coming to an end, fans thought that maybe Kaguya-sama Season 4 was in the works. However, news of a feature film was revealed in the August 2022 issue of Kadokawa’s Newtype magazine.
What will the Kaguya-sama: Love is War movie be about?
With Season 3 just ending, fans of the series were left to wonder what was next.
The series ended with Kaguya and Miyuki finally reaching a major milestone in their years-long battle. This left viewers wondering what was next for the couple, who still have yet to truly confess their feelings.
The next major arc in the series, appropriately titled The First Kiss Never Ends, will likely adapt chapters 142-151 of the manga. In this arc, Kaguya and Miyuki finally come to terms with the reality they’ve both been avoiding, that one of them must confess in order for their relationship to progress.
After three seasons of playing cat and mouse, fans will be excited to see if things work out in the end. However, if you’re looking to find out just who may finally bite the bullet and how, you’ll have to read the manga or wait for the movie to see for yourself!

Will there be a fourth season of the series?
When the announcement of an upcoming project was first made, fans speculated that a Season 4 was in the works. Now that a movie has been confirmed, we all can’t help but wonder what that means for the rest of the series.
Movies are not always the end, but can sometimes be a good way to wrap up an animation adaptation. The Quintessential Quintuplets recently did something similar with their own franchise.
