The JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean Episode 13 release date has been confirmed to be scheduled for Fall 2022. However, some anime news leakers are claiming that the JoJo Stone Ocean Part 2 release date on Netflix will be earlier on September 1, 2022. (See below for more details.)

Yes, that does mean that anime fans who already watched the first batch of episodes only to wait three months will have to wait six more months…

The announcement was made during a special stage event at Anime Japan 2022: Day One on March 26, 2022.

In addition, this JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean Part 2 trailer previewed a bit of Episode 13. It was shown at the end of the Japanese TV broadcast of Episode 12 on March 25, 2022.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean Episode 13 release date on Netflix USA

There’s been a lot of confusion in regards to Netflix’s release schedule for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6, which is JoJo Season 5 in the overall series as listed by Netflix. JoJo Stone Ocean Episode 13 is the next in the lineup, but it will apparently bulk release on Netflix as JoJo Stone Ocean Part 2.

All of the previous anime adaptations have had multiple cours. What’s a “cour,” you might ask? For those unfamiliar with the lingo, a “cour” is a three-month TV broadcasting block based on the physical seasons usually composed of 10 to 13 episodes.

JoJo Stone Ocean Part 1 was streaming internationally first in December 2021 and then weekly TV broadcasting in Japan began on January 7, 2022, the Winter 2022 anime season. The first cour’s finale, JoJo Stone Ocean Episode 12, was released in Japan on March 25, 2022.

Some anime fans hoped that JoJo Stone Ocean Part 2 would be streaming early once again on Netflix. But when Netflix Geeked released the streaming schedule for March 2022, any mention of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean was conspicuously absent.

Unfortunately, the reason is that the JoJo Stone Ocean Part 2 release date is being scheduled for Fall 2022.

At the same time, anime news leaker Sugoi LITE is claiming that the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean Part 2 release date on Netflix is on September 1, 2022. Typically, the Fall 2022 anime season is considered to be October, November, and December, whereas September 2022 is the ending of the Summer 2022 anime season.

How to resolve that apparent contradiction between the official announcement and the leaked info? It’s possible that the worldwide Netflix distribution is early in September 2022, whereas the Japanese TV broadcast is in Fall 2022.

Keep in mind this information hasn’t been substantiated by any official source (and the leaker lists “Episodes 13 – 24”). As such, it should be treated as a rumor and taken with a grain of salt. However, this particular leaker has a history of providing accurate info.

JoJo Part 6 Episode 13 compared to the manga

The JoJo Stone Ocean story arc ran from 1999 to 2003 in the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga series by creator Hirohiko Araki. It’s 17 volumes in total, consisting of Volumes 64 through 80 in the entire series.

JoJo Stone Ocean Episode 12 finished by adapting up through the first 50 chapters. JoJo Stone Ocean Episode 13 should pick up the story again in Chapter 51, which is titled “Kiss of Love & Revenge”.

Since the Stone Ocean manga had 158 chapters in total, David Production could adapt the story as a three-cour JoJo Part 6 anime with around 36 to 38 episodes. That should mean the JoJo Stone Ocean Part 3 release date will be in… 2023.

Let’s just hope it’s worth the wait for the JoJo Stone Ocean Episode 13. Stay tuned!
