The BASTARD!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy Part 2 release date on Netflix has been confirmed for September 15, 2022, which is near the end of the Summer 2022 anime season.

On September 8, 2022, the Netflix Anime YouTube channel released a trailer PV for the BASTARD!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy Part 2.

Take a look:

BASTARD!! Part 2 will be comprised of BASTARD!! Episodes 14 through 24. Yes, that means BASTARD!! Season 1 is a split-cour anime season. The second half is not considered to the BASTARD!! Season 2 anime.

What’s a “cour,” you might ask? For those unfamiliar with the lingo, a “cour” is a three-month block of TV broadcasting based on the physical seasons, usually composed of 10 to 13 episodes.

A “split-cour” is where a single anime season takes a multi-month break before resuming TV broadcasting.

According to the official Twitter, the BASTARD!! Episode 14 trailer release date is on September 8, 2022.

The Bastard!!: Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy manga

The Bastard!!: Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy manga by Kazushi Hagiwara began in 1988. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump until 2000 when it was transferred to Ultra Jump. In 2010, the manga went on hiatus and remains unfinished to this day.

The producer behind the BASTARD!! Season 1 Part 2 anime is Warner Bros. Japan and the animation studio is Liden Films. The Japanese animation studio is known in recent times for anime TV shows such as Blade of the ImmortalOtherside PicnicCells At Work! CODE BLACK, and Tokyo Revengers (the Tokyo Revengers Season 2 release date is already confirmed for 2023).

Studio Felix Film was in charge of the 3D CGI animation sequences.

He also seems to be a big fan of the series. During a small interview segment following the BASTARD!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy- Anime Announcement Special Event he stated the following:

“Bastard!! has been around for a while. It’s indeed regarded as a pioneering work. Many Japanese anime, novels, and manga were influenced by it. It’s sort of where the fantasy genre started. When Bastard!! was serialized, there weren’t many fantasy titles out there. Something so elaborate. People were really drawn to this world of fantasy. I was a fan back then too. I was a kid reading the manga. And so Bastard!! is really a pioneer.”

Writer Yousuke Kuroda (Goblin Slayer, My Hero Academia, Sword Art Online: Gun Gale Online) was responsible for the series composition. Notably, the ONA was much more faithful to the manga source material in comparison to the previous anime adaptation from the 90’s.

Artist Sayaka Ono (Sacred Seven) was the character designer. Composer Yasuharu Takanashi (Log Horizon, Kengan Ashura, Zombieland Saga) created the music.

Who are the voice actors cast in the new Bastard!! anime series?
