Banished from the Hero’s Party Season 2: What we know so far
Banished from the Hero’s Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside (Shin no Nakama ja Nai to Yuusha no Party wo Oidasareta no de, Henkyou de Surou Life Suru Koto ni Shimashita) is a light novel series written by Zappon and illustrated by Yasumo.
Author Zappon isn’t hiding his delight at the announcement of the anime series’ Season 2. He has been quoted as saying that albeit he wanted to see a Banished from the Hero’s Party Season 2 upon watching Season 1, he’s aware that it’s not “something that can be done just because the original author wants to do it.”
He extends his thanks to “people who enjoyed the anime” who have made the second season available.
You’re welcome!
Makoto Hoshino, who directed Shin no Nakama ja Nai Season 1, has also provided commentary. Hoshino jokingly refers to his endeavor as a “battle” with author Zappon, adding that a 22-minute episode format is just about the right measure for the anime series.
“I’m so happy and shudder at the same time,” Hoshino comments.
Finally, scriptwriter Megumi Shimizu has commented that the main characters of the series live their lives as they should, “even if it means going against God.”
“When I heard that the second season was decided, I was honestly very happy,” Shimizu concludes.
She has added that “they” are working hard on Season 2, meaning that we may well expect that Banished from the Hero’s Party Season 1 staff will be reprising their roles for Season 2.
The first 13-episode anime season was scheduled to air in July 2021 but was eventually postponed to October 2021. The anime series ran from October 6, 2021, to December 29, 2021, and was animated by studios Flad and Wolfsbane.
Makoto Hoshino directed the series, which was streamed by Funimation as it aired in Japan.
Additional staff members included Megumi Shimizu (scriptwriter) and Ruriko Watanabe (character designer).
