The news was announced via Anime NYC Twitter on October 19, which specified that Isayama will appear on Friday and Saturday, November 18th and 19th, 2022.

On Friday, Isayama will have an autograph signing session. On Saturday, there will be a special panel attended by the mangaka.

Additional information regarding tickets for the two events will be announced at a later date by Anime NYC 2022.

About Attack on Titan mangaka Hajime Isayama

Mangaka Hajime Isayama has become a household name among manga and anime buffs as there’s hardly anyone there who hasn’t heard of his masterpiece Attack on Titan (進撃の巨人, Shingeki no Kyojin).

The manga was published from September 9, 2009, to April 9, 2021, debuting in the first issue of Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine. The 139 individual chapters have been collected into 34 tankōbon volumes.

Shingeki no Kyojin is so popular that it even got a “Colossal Edition,” an omnibus extra-large (7×10.5 inch) size edition printed on premium-quality paper, which is a first, even for Japan.

There are 6 Colossal Edition volumes in total, each of them featuring five original volumes of the series in addition to extra color pages never published before. The extras include original drawings, an exclusive look at mangaka’s character designs, and color crossovers with the superheroes of Marvel’s Avengers, among other treats.

On November 8, 2020, it was announced that Attack on Titan would get a full-color serialization, which is a rare occurrence and shows how popular the manga is, internationally.

Kodansha USA has licensed the series for the U.S. and has published all tankōbon volumes in English. Volume 1 was out on June 19, 2012, and the last volume (34) was published on October 19, 2021. Colossal Editions are up to Volume 6, which includes tankōbon volumes 26 through 30.

The Attack On Titan Season 4 Part 3 anime TV series is confirmed to be coming out in 2023, with the precise date yet to be announced.

Great many fans are awaiting the conclusion as the latest Shingeki no Kyojin anime season ended in a cliffhanger — quite symptomatic for the manga chapters, too, meaning that the adaptation is loyal to the original… to the letter!

Additional Attack on Titan goodies, guests at Anime NYC 2022

Kodansha has also announced it will host a booth featuring an Attack on Titan activation set.

Anime NYC 2022 won’t fail fans of other anime franchises, either. The organizers have announced some additional guests, including but not limited to Fantasy XV composer Youko Shimomura, Studio Trigger staff members Hiromi Wakabayashi, Shigeto Koyama, and Sushio, Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway director Shuukou Murase, and Mob Psycho 100 voice actor Setsuo Itou (Shigeo Kageyama/Mob).

Anyone who finds themselves in NY during the event is lucky indeed!
