The Tokyo Revengers Season 4 anime TV show series will once again plunge Takemichi back into the past with a final mission that may conclude in Tokyo Revengers: Final Arc.
But since the Tokyo Revengers manga’s ending was released in Fall 2022, what does that mean for the anime TV show series? The real question is whether the 4th season will be a mini-season based on the short Bonten Arc or plow right through adapting the manga series to finish off the Final Arc with a Tokyo Revengers: Final Season Part 1 and 2.
The first season had 24 episodes in total released as 2 cours, or parts, while the 2nd season, the Christmas Showdown Arc, had a total of 13 episodes released as 1 cour. The 3rd season, Tenjiku Arc, is predicted to be at least 1 cour, as well.
What’s a “cour,” you might ask? For those unfamiliar with the lingo, a “cour” is a three-month block of TV broadcasting based on the physical seasons usually composed of 10 to 13 episodes.
Beginning with the Christmas Showdown arc the anime TV series became a Disney exclusive worldwide (excluding mainland China). In the United States, new episodes were released on Hulu whereas in some countries the anime was streaming via Disney+.
This announcement was part of a long-term expansion of strategic collaboration between Disney and Kodansha. As such, it is expected that the Tokyo Revengers Season 4 release date will be once again a Disney/Hulu exclusive.

Tokyo Revengers: Final Arc release date in 2024?
As of the last update, publisher Kodansha, Studio LIDEN FILMS, or any company related to the production of the anime has not officially confirmed the Tokyo Revengers Season 4 release date. Nor has the production of a Tokyo Revengers: Bonten Arc sequel been announced.
Once the news is officially confirmed this article will be updated with the relevant information. It’s likely that the announcement will be made in December 2023 when the Tokyo Revengers Season 3 finale episode airs.
In the meantime, it’s possible to speculate about when, or if, the Tokyo Revengers: Final Arc release date will occur in the future.
The cliffhanger ending of the first season was almost as shocking as the fact that no official announcement of the 2nd season was immediately confirmed. But the anime sequel announcement wasn’t a surprise since the popularity of the Tokyo Revengers manga exploded in 2021 thanks to the anime, increasing the number of manga volume copies in circulation by eight times in a single year.
In the early days of the manga series, it wasn’t nearly as popular. Tokyo Revengers manga editor Ichigo Tsuchiy says he used to go out drinking and claim, “Tokyo Revengers is going to sell 20 million copies, 40 million copies!” but no one believed him.
In fact, the Tokyo Revengers manga officially became the best-selling Kodansha manga within a one-year period by selling 16,532,610 copies, beating out Attack on Titan’s record of 15,933,801 that was set in 2013! By December 20, 2022, the series topped 70 million copies in circulation.
Since it’s confirmed that the anime production committee is having Tokyo Revengers renewed on a regular basis, it seems they are hoping to strike quickly while the anime is still hot. The only question is studio availability since anime productions are scheduled out years in advance.
Previously, Anime Geek successfully predicted that the 2nd season would be released in 2023 since the production was initially officially announced on December 18, 2021. This prediction was based on how there were anime news leaks early on and the availability of the animation studio and the contractor staff. (However, there was one false rumor from a Chinese Weibo blogger that mistakenly claimed July 2022 based on real plans to rebroadcast the first season in Japan during Summer 2022.)
Studio LIDEN FILMS’ schedule is packed. In 2023 the company animated 10 anime TV series and the studio has already been confirmed for more anime projects in 2024.
Assuming that the production has been scheduled in advance, we predict that the Tokyo Revengers Season 4 release date will be in July 2024 (Summer 2024) at the earliest. However, if the 4th season is intended to be the final season it’s possible it could come out in Fall 2024 or Winter 2025.
Hulu Tokyo Revengers Season 4 English dub release date
The first season of Tokyo Revengers was streaming on Crunchyroll, VRV, Amazon Prime Video (not in the USA), and Netflix Japan (not Netflix U.S.) with English subtitles. The dubbed version came out on Crunchyroll and then the 2nd and 3rd seasons were exclusive to Disney+/Hulu.

Tokyo Revengers manga compared to the anime
The story for the anime series is based on the Tokyo Revengers manga by creator Ken Wakui. Serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since March 2017, the manga series finished with Volume 31 on January 17, 2023.
Kodansha USA is digitally publishing the official English Tokyo Revengers manga in North America.
As for the physical print release, Seven Seas Entertainment began releasing 2-in-1 omnibus volumes of the English translation beginning in May 2022. Unfortunately, the physical book release will only be up to Volume 20 by April 2, 2024, so English-only manga readers will need to turn to online services like Kindle or comiXology to keep up with the anime version.
Tokyo Revengers’ final chapter 278 came out on November 16, 2022. Thankfully, the ending left plenty of chapters for the anime series to adapt with multiple seasons.
The title of the 2nd season, Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown, is a reference to the manga series’ Black Dragon story arc since the plot takes place near Christmas. The Christmas Showdown arc is about the same length as the Valhalla arc so that’s why Anime Geek successfully predicted that Tokyo Revengers Season 2 would be a single cour anime season.
Thankfully, the manga has more than enough chapters for making Tokyo Revengers Season 4 with multiple cours. In fact, based on the pacing of the story it’s possible that anime fans won’t need to wait until Tokyo Revengers Season 5 to watch the ending of the series.
The opening episodes of the 1st season had a relatively sluggish pace in order to set up the story. The first two manga chapters were longer than usual and the initial characterization and plot setup needed time to breathe for worldbuilding, which allowed for better execution of later plot elements. But once the Moebius Arc began both the pacing and the action blew up.
The 1st season could have ended with Chapter 69 since it sets up the conditions for continuing Takemichi’s mission and provides a sense of closure to the first season. Chapter 66 was also a decent stopping point since it would concluded on a hopeful note. Instead, the ending of the first season created an intense desire for a sequel.
Anime Geek actually failed to predict how the first season would end. After all, ending Episode 24 with the final page panel of Chapter 73 was shocking since it literally ended with a gun to Takemichi’s head in a scene from the Valhalla Arc.
Since the 1st season covered more material than expected, the 2nd season adapted the entire Black Dragon Arc. The 2nd season’s finale, Episode 37 (Season 2 Episode 13) even dipped its into the Tenjiku Arc by adapting Chapters 120 through 125 of Volume 14.
The ending of the Christmas Showdown was another cliffhanger since audiences were left with a very confused Takemichi being called a “hero” by Tetta Kisaki after being overwhelmed in a fight with Tenjiku members.

It’s predicted that the 3rd season will end shortly after Mikey announces the disbandment of Toman during a speech in Chapter 188, after the big marriage proposal in Chapter 191, or after the future Mikey is revealed to be the leader of the Bonten, Japan’s worst criminal organization, in Chapter 195. Since the first two seasons ended on huge cliffhangers it’s further predicted that the dramatic final scene of the Tenjiku Arc anime will be based on Chapter 203 or 204.
Adapting 78 chapters with 13 episodes is fairly fast-paced for an anime adaptation, especially since the fast-paced 2nd season adapted only 53 chapters, but it would be uncharacteristically conclusive for the 3rd season to end on a relatively happy note near the beginning of the Tokyo Revengers Bonten Arc. Ending the 3rd season with yet another cliffhanger would also allow Tokyo Revengers Season 4 to finish adapting the remaining 75 chapters with either 1 or 2 cours.
Of course, it’s possible the third season will end at Mikey’s big speech. If that’s the case, Tokyo Revengers Season 4 will still likely be the final season. The 90 chapters would best be adapted by 2 parts.
Regardless of how the 3rd season adapts the manga, the best news is that English-only manga readers will not need to wait to read ahead of the anime since Volumes 21 and 23 are already available digitally (if not physically). And with either cliffhanger, you just know many people are dying to know what happens next.

Japanese voice actor Masaya Fukunishi (Blue Period, Haikyuu!!) has been voicing Draken ever since voice actor Tatsuhisa Suzuki dropped out from Tokyo Revengers. The voice actor had previously stepped from his roles as Ultraman Taro in Netflix’s Ultraman anime TV series and Anos Voldigoad in The Misfit of Demon King Academy anime.

Tokyo Revengers Season 4 studio and staff
The anime was produced by Japanese animation Studio LIDEN FILMS, which is known for recent anime such Blade of the Immortal, Hanebado!, and Boarding School Juliet.
In 2023, LIDEN FILMS also released notables such as Goblin Slayer Season 2 and Bastard‼ Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy Season 2.
The first three seasons of Tokyo Revengers were helmed by director Koichi Hatsumi (Blue Exorcist, Dororo, Deadman Wonderland). Returning writer Yasuyuki Mutou (Afro Samurai, Deadman Wonderland, various Mobile Suit Gundam anime) wrote the series composition.
Returning artist Kenichi Ohnuki (Golden Kamuy, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Mobile Suit Gundam, My Hero Academia) is the character designer. Composer Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Ahiru no Sora, Devil May Cry, Dr. STONE, Jujutsu Kaisen, Monster Musume, By the Grace of the Gods) wrote the music.
Since the main staff did not change at all for 3 seasons it’s expected that Tokyo Revengers Season 4 will be created by them, as well.
Tokyo Revengers Season 4 OP and ED music
The Tokyo Revengers Season 4 OP (opening) theme song music hasn’t been announced yet. However, the first three seasons all featured Official HIGE DANdism so it’s possible the main music performer will remain the same.
The group performed the OP “Cry Baby” for the 1st season, whereas Season 2 and 3 both featured the OP “White Noise”.

The ED (ending) “Take a Breath Here” was performed by Eill for the 1st season. “It might be painful, but I still love it.” was performed by TUYU for the 2nd season. The 3rd season featured “Say My Name” as performed by Hey-Smith.
