Okemaru’s Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha light novel series is getting a TV anime adaptation in 2023. The exact Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha anime release date is yet to be announced.
A teaser trailer and a key visual (see below) were also released to corroborate the announcement.

The main cast of Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha anime includes:
- Naoya Miyase (Sei Kyougoku in Futsal Boys!!!!!) as Wataru Sajou
- Akiho Suzumoto (Natsuha Arisugawa in Voy@ger) as Aika Natsukawa
- Yumiri Hanamori (Ai Hayasaka in Kaguya-sama: Love is War) as Kei Ashida
- Mikako Komatsu (Maki Zenin in Jujustu Kaisen) as Kaede Sajou
- Kaori Ishihara (Aladdin in Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic) as Rin Shinomiya
Kazuomi Koga is directing the anime at Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ. Michiko Yokote is in charge of the series scripts. Masaru Koseki is adapting Saba Mizore’s original character designs for animation.

Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha (The Dreaming Boy is a Realist) is an upcoming anime based on the light novel series of the same name written by Okemaru and illustrated by Saba Mizore.
The novel series was initially serialized as a web novel on the user-generated novel publishing website Shosetsuka ni Naro. It was later acquired by Hobby Japan, and they have published seven volumes under their HJ Bunko light novel imprint to date.
The series also received a manga adaptation with art by Popuri Yoshikita. The manga is serialized on Kadokawa Shoten’s Shonen Ace Plus website. Two tankobon volumes have been released to date, and Volume 3 is set to release on November 25, 2022.
Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha is a rom-com series that follows the story of Wataru Sajou, who is in love with his classmate Aika Natsukawa. One day Wataru wakes up thinking if he is even good enough for Aika. Since then, Wataru started maintaining distance from her. Aika notices this and wonders if Wataru hates her now!
