Marvelous just dropped their 2nd trailer of Loop8: Summer of Gods, and it’s phenomenal! This coming-of-age RPG boasts a beautifully conceived countryside setting brimming with nostalgia and charm. And it features a young and likable cast of characters that wouldn’t feel out of place in a Persona game.
Loop8: Summer of Gods is coming out in Japan for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on March 16, 2023. And the PC version will hit Steam on March 21, 2023.
But the question we’re all probably asking is — will we get a worldwide release? And we’re happy to report that Marvelous Europe and XSEED Games will handle launches in Western territories. But we don’t have confirmation of a firm release date yet. However, we can speculate that it’s likely the same as the PC/Steam release date.
This game will place players in control of the main protagonist Nini and his fellow classmates. Nini was raised on a space station, but he returns to Earth during the summer of 1983. He spends his time in Ashihara, a rural Japanese town, which also serves as a sanctuary for the last remnants of humanity.
Here, Nini will befriend and form relationships with his fellow classmates and townspeople. Moreover, he’ll battle demonic entities known as the Kegai, which pose an existential threat.
But will Nini and his classmates defeat these demons? Well, given that Nini’s gifted with the Demon Sight ability, he can form a special connection with the Gods to reset the world, and thus, loop the 8th month repeatedly until they successfully defeat the Kegai.
