On October 8, 2022, Yen Press announced on Twitter that Sasaki and Miyano: First Years is coming! But unfortunately, we don’t have a release date or price.
However, it will answer some questions about our favorite senpai. It doesn’t matter if you read the novel or watch the anime first, as the book contains one-shots told in non-chronological order.
The novel has nine chapters and a manga drawn by Sho Harusono. Harusono is the creator of Sasaki and Miyano.
What is Sasaki and Miyano: First Years?
Sasaki and Miyano: First Years is set before the anime and answers questions like whether Miyano and Kuresawa are always friends, why Miyano and Hirano are so close, and more. We’ll get to see the daily life of these characters and see them interact in school.
How did Kuresawa meet his girlfriend? What made Miyano join the Disciplinary Committee and how did Hirano handle learning about BL terms?
We also see Sasaki’s point of view during the second episode, and the picky comes back with Hirano and Kagiura. Sasaki attempts to dye his hair black with hilarious results, and more shenanigans happen.
It reminds me of My Dress-Up Darling, with the level of cuteness as Sasaki and Miyano come to grips with their feelings!
All you need is love, pocky, and BL manga!
Watching how Miyano reacts to certain situations, especially concerning BL and Sasaki, is a constant tug on my heart. It’s a great way to see another side of the BL fandom.
Miyano may not be comfortable with broadcasting his favorite genre, but that’s ok. Because Sasaki is right there, and he speaks the pure truth.
BL manga is just like any other type of manga. However, it has different genres, and some of the newer content is darker than others.
But Sasaki and Miyano is a perfect example of pure fluff! Boy meets boy. They eventually learn to accept their feelings, and one of them makes his move!
The final two episodes had me on the edge of my seat. I can’t wait for the movie! Sasaki and Miyano’s journey to becoming a couple is the best way to get into BL anime/manga.
Especially if you love rom-coms that take place in school, are you going to pick Sasaki and Miyano: First Years?
