A new Mob Psycho 100 season three trailer has dropped, and things are looking rough for our favorite esper.
The excitement and hype around the series has only been building as we get closer to its October 5, 2022 release date. If anything, the recent controversy around the anime’s English dub has only gotten more people talking about it in the last few days. Whatever happens, no doubt fans will eagerly be tuning in to watch after several years of waiting for the newest installment.
The latest trailer, which dropped on Twitter, has given fans even more footage to hold them over, but also just enough to stress them out. What starts off as a romantic and innocent look into Mob’s crush on Tsubomi, soon turns tragic and violent as we see Mob bleeding out in the street. Followed by clips of space and what appears to be the future, this season of Mob looks intense.
What can we expect from Season 3?
With only a week left until Mob Psycho season three premieres on television, it seems fans have been spoiled with information the last few weeks.
On top of this new trailer, there have also been visuals and PV trailers. They’ve led many to speculate that the season will begin with the Divine Tree Arc and then finish out the series with the Telepathy Mini-Arc, ???% Arc and Epilogue given there is only so much manga source material left. That would make season three the final season of Mob Psycho 100. While most fans probably hope this is not the case, there is still plenty to look forward to this season.
As usual, in the United States Mob Psycho will stream on Crunchyroll. Although some of the dub castings are up in the air, many of the Japanese voice actors will be returning to reprise their roles in the anime.
What is Mob Psycho 100 about?
If you haven’t heard of or seen Mob Psycho 100 yet, you may be wondering what the series is even about.
Mob Psycho 100 follows a middle school student named Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama. Although relatively average or even unremarkable in terms of appearance and personality, he does have one extraordinary gift – he is a powerful esper capable of using immense psychic powers when his emotions become too intense for him to control. However, instead of using this to his advantage, Mob often suppresses these abilities.
In an attempt to gain real control over his abilities, Mob enlists the help of a con artist named Reigen, who pretends to be a psychic for work. Despite the questionable nature of their relationship, it proves to be mutually beneficial as Mob gets to practice exercising spirits for Reigen, and he gets to take the credit and payout for all of Mob’s work.
As the two become closer and develop a real student/teacher relationship, things seem to be going well for Mob. Still, at any time things could change and trigger a cataclysmic event if Mob’s emotions are allowed to go unchecked for too long.
It’s definitely a series I recommend, especially if supernatural shonen are your thing!
