On September 23, 2022, @tomo_chan_ani on Twitter posted a PV trailer for the upcoming Tomo-chan Is a Girl! anime. The trailer also confirms that the anime will air in Winter 2023.

Unfortunately, we only have a few names confirmed and nothing new on the Tomo-chan Is a Girl! English dub, which Crunchyroll will be streaming.

What’s new with the Tomo-chan Is a Girl! PV trailer

The PV has given us a few more cast members to enjoy. Kohei Amasaki is Kosuke Misaki, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka is Tatsumi Tanabe.

Kosuke is the class rep and has a rocky relationship with Carol. Tatsumi has a crush on Misuzu, the girl pictured above, but is constantly rebuffed by her.

Misuzu is Junichiro’s ex-girlfriend and Tomo’s friend. She makes up the third wheel of the trio and loves to mess with her friends.

Could she still have feelings for Junichiro, or does she not like Tatsumi? How will Kosuke get dragged into the group’s antics?

January is shaping up to be a fun month for anime, and I can’t wait to see how this one turns out.

What is the Tomo-chan Is a Girl! story

Tomo-chan Is a Girl! Is about a tomboy, Tomo, who confesses her love to Junichiro, only for him to misunderstand.

Tomo isn’t your typical female lead. Instead, she does martial arts, wears shorts under a skirt, and can’t show her feminine side because of her father.

He’s a karate instructor and is the only character to remain without an announced voice actor.

Goro Aizawa, Tomo’s father, has also been absent from the trailers. Does this mean Goro is a lousy father or completely clueless?

Either way, Tomo is determined to show Junichiro that she’s a girl so her friends are helping her. Or make things worse, because it wouldn’t be any fun if they got together too soon.

Tomo is any girl who finds herself wanting to change how she’s perceived. She knows she’s in love with Junichiro, but how can she accept rejection if he misunderstands her?

She blushed as she said it, but the boy didn’t get it! How can she convince him that she’s more than “one of the guys?”
