The Shinmai Renkin release date is on October 3, 2022, the Fall 2022 anime season.
The upcoming Management of Novice Alchemist (a.k.a. Shinmai Renkin) TV anime series got a trailer PV 3 on September 17, 2022.
Initially announced in September 2021, the TV anime got its first trailer in April 2022, whereby the main staff and cast members were also disclosed.
The Shinmai Renkin PV 3 (immediately above) previews the ED theme song “Fine Days” by Nanaka Suwa. By the by, the OP theme song is “Hajimaru Welcome” (“Starting Welcome”) by Aguri Onishi.
The artists making the Shinmai Renkin OP and ED theme songs were revealed in July 2022.
The Management of Novice Alchemist anime series: What we know so far
Management of Novice Alchemist (新米錬金術師の店舗経営, Shinmai Renkinjutsushi no Tenpo Keiei) is an upcoming anime series originally announced in September 2021, as mentioned above.
Ikehata Hiroshi (Tonikawa: Over The Moon For You) is directing the series at Studio ENGI (Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!), with Yōsuke Itō (The Detective Is Already Dead) serving as chief animation director and character designer. Shigeru Murakoshi (I’m Quitting Heroing) is the series’ composer and Kazuhiro Arai is the art director.
The main cast members include:
- Kanon Takao — Sarasa Ride
- Saori Ōnishi — Iris Lotze
- Hina Kino — Lolea
- Nanaka Suwa — Kate Starven
The Shinmai Renkin got its first teaser PV in April and another one in July (see above). Just a couple of days ago, a new Management of Novice Alchemist trailer unveiled character preview for Rorea.
About the Shinmai Renkin light novel series
The Management of Novice Alchemist TV anime is based on the eponymous light novel series written by Mizuho Itsuki and illustrated by Fuumi.
Originally published on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō user-generated novel publishing website (2018), the novels were taken over by Kadokawa in 2019. Ever since then, Shinmai Renkin has been published under the publisher’s Fantasia Bunko label.
The sixth volume was out just three days ago, on September 16, 2022.
Plot-wise, the novels follow Sarasa, an orphaned girl who dreams of opening an alchemy store. Upon graduation from the Royal Alchemist Training Academy, her master offers her a job in his store. One thing leads to another, Sarasa soon discovers that instead of enjoying her dream job, she has actually been tasked with rebuilding the store.
The light novels inspired a manga adaptation by kirero in 2020. The manga is still ongoing; it’s been serialized in the Comic Valkyrie magazine since its debut.
