Book lovers rejoice, for our princess will grace the small screen in a month!
The Bibliophile Princess (Mushikaburi-hime) release date has been set for October 6, the Fall 2022 anime season.
Even though this isn’t a horror title by any means, it still fills an ache in my heart.
Elianna puts the Disney princesses to shame, but the series can get a bit dark early on. However, our girl is ready to bow with dignity and grace!
Unless someone disrespects the source books, not even Prince Christopher gets away with that!

Do you read in chunks or devour the book in one sitting?
According to the official website/Twitter for the Bibliophile Princess anime, Mushikaburi-hime will premiere on Thursday across four stations: AT-X at 21:00 or 9:00, TOKYO MX at 23:30, Kansai TV at 26:55, and BS NTV at 24:30.
AT-X will also have a repeat broadcast, but there’s no word on when fans outside of Japan will get to enjoy it.
The light novels and the manga have reached their 6th volume in Japan, with English readers only on the 5th as of January 12, 2021, and March 2, 2022, respectively.
Elianna is one of my favorite bookworms. She prefers books to clothes and jewelry and is a hard worker.
Still, I almost stopped reading the manga due to the first story arc! No spoilers, but the trailers do hint at the first hurdle.

The Bibliophile Princess Light novels vs. manga?
I’m obsessed with stories about stories, and Elianna’s journey is too cute to pass up in either form. The only difference is the manga only covers the novels in parts.
Volume 1 of the light novel contains the same content found in the manga’s first two or three volumes. If you’re tight on money and don’t feel like buying both versions, I recommend the light novels.
Both versions are licensed in English by J-Novel Club; hence, you won’t find too many differences. Elianna doesn’t know how to interact with people easily on the topics that don’t involve books but she has a big heart and a refreshing charm.
As for Christopher, he is the perfect male lead. He appears to be an airheaded ladies’ man but has moments where he takes control and proves he’s a true prince.
I can’t wait for the anime to come out, but in the meantime, I’m going to drown myself in books.
