Traditionally, the event is organized by Aniplex Inc. and co-sponsored by Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc. It will take place at the PACIFICO Yokohama National Convention Hall, one of the largest convention halls in Japan.
Aniplex Online Fest 3 is setting the bar higher
This is the third Aniplex Online Fest in a row and the line-up keeps getting more and more impressive.
Back in 2020, the Fest was initiated due to the COVID-19 pandemic onset, which caused convention cancellations left and right at the time. The event proved immensely successful, attracting over 800,000 viewers from all across the globe. AOF2021 managed to attract even more international viewers: more than 850,000, all told.
Now, the bar is set higher; the focus has evolved to promoting J-pop culture alongside anime, in and out of Japan. The premise behind AOF2022 is so much more than just mere anime screening; the event will also include live performances, talk shows, special appearances, in-person events, live drawings sessions, and behind-the-scenes stories from the anime industry. Additional info in this regard will be announced at a later date, so stay tuned!
Meanwhile, a new promotional video advertising Aniplex Online Fest 2022 has been released. Here’s the English version, narrated by Johnny Yong Bosch (BLEACH’s Ichigo Kurosaki). Take a look:
In the same fashion, the Japanese promotional video is narrated by Masakazu Morita, the seiyuu voicing the original Ichigo.
