Crunchyroll’s trailer of Skip and Loafer is here with a positive message for fans! Though the trailer hasn’t revealed anything new, the message states that production is going smoothly!

Which is excellent news because Skip and Loafer is an easy-going slice of life that handles drama and issues very well in its manga form, and I recommend reading volume one as a cleanser.

The Country Mouse with big dreams!

Mitsumi is a girl from the countryside with big dreams in a new city. Everything about her screams country, and I love how she tries to stay upbeat, even when her plans are ruined.

Shima is a bit more mysterious but also a pleasant mix of tropes. He’s the type of guy everyone wants to be friends with but is highly observant without being cruel or condescending.

Nothing groundbreaking in volume one would make me read the next book, but I love how it handles typical teen drama without naming names. There a girl that appears nice turns out to be a manipulator, while two other girls are more than their looks suggest. Just because you look like a specific type of person doesn’t mean you are.

And anyone willing to wear heels to the point their feet are covered in band-aids is to be applauded. If you need a break from the world and don’t want to read anything too complicated, Skip and Loafer is perfect.

The manga has seven volumes in Japan, but English readers aren’t far behind. Volume five is coming out on July 26, 2022, and volume six will arrive on November 29, 2022.

A boy raised in the city with the same name as her dog?!

Unfortunately, there’s not much to report on the anime’s progress. However, fans looking closely will notice slight hue differences in the Crunchyroll and AniTV trailers.

Given the footage and length of the trailers and that AniTV launched theirs three weeks ago, this seems like Crunchyroll has a more polished version. But, of course, this doesn’t mean you’ll miss out on anything if you watch anime trailers from specific YouTube channels.

Except for the message and Crunchyroll’s advertising at the end, there’s nothing else to differentiate the trailers. So are you looking forward to the Skip and Loafer anime?

Should I read more of the manga and review it before the anime comes out? Please, leave a comment and let me know what you think about this series.
