It seems Vinland Saga Season 2 has an important announcement to make!

With the second season of the popular series already confirmed to be in production, fans have been waiting for whatever information they can get their hands on.

It was previously revealed that the second season would be produced by MAPPA studio, as opposed to WIT Studio. Season 2 was confirmed to be in production back in April by character designer and chief animation director, Abiru Takahiko. An official trailer soon followed.

While there is no word yet on what the official announcement could be, there is a link on the show’s Twitter page that takes you to a yet-to-be-released YouTube video. Whether that video ends up being an additional trailer, or something else even, is yet to be revealed.

Fans can check back with this Twin Engine YouTube page on June 8th at 7:00 am to see the announcement for themselves!

What is Vinland Saga about?

If you’ve never checked out Vinland Saga, you may be wondering what the anime is about.

The series, which first premiered in 2019, follows a young Viking named Thorfinn as he grows from a child, into a warrior of his own like his father. The official synopsis reads:

Around the end of the millennium, Viking, the mightiest but atrocious tribe, had been outbreaking everywhere. Thorfinn, the son of the greatest warrior, lived his childhood in the battlefield. He was seeking the land of reverie called Vinland. This is the story of a true warrior in an age of turmoil.

If you know anything about Viking history, you’ll surely recognize characters like Canute or Leif Erikson, as the show is loosely based on actual historical figures.

Where can I watch the first season?

If you’re eager to catch up, or even rewatch, Vinland Saga before the release of season 2, you may be wondering where to find the anime!

Unlike many other anime that find homes either on services like Crunchyroll or Netflix, Vinland Saga is an Amazon Prime exclusive, at least in the United States.

Amazon Prime subscribers can watch the series at no additional cost. You can also sign up for a 30-day free trial and binge the series that way. There is no word yet on whether season 2 will also be an Amazon Prime exclusive as well.
