Kakegurui Twin will begin streaming on Netflix on August 2, 2022. Though fans are waiting for a Kakegurui Season 3, seeing Mary’s past is bound to be entertaining.
This spin-off is set one year before Yumeko Jabmi arrives, and it’s Mary’s turn to be the transfer student. Can Mary achieve a rags-to-riches story, or will she become the person we know in Kakegurui in one strike?
Same school, new faces
Rina Honnizumi is Tsuzura Hanatemari, Yo Taichi is Yukimi Togakusi, Yuko Kaida is Sachiko Juraku, Aoi Koga is Mikura Sado, Seiichiro Yamashita is Aoi Mibuomi, and Rie Takahashi is Sakura Miharutaki. Then ending song is Queens Bluff by Iris.
There is no word on whether Kakegurui Twin will be streamed weekly or at once, but now is the time to check out the manga or the live-action adaptation. If you don’t want to be spoiled, read the main manga or check out Kakegurui Midari, another spin-off that focuses on Midari Ikishima.
Kakegurui Trip and Kakegurui Joker are two light novels by Hikaru Muno and illustrated by Toru Naomura. Muno is the younger brother of Homura Kawamoto, the writer for Kakegurui, and Naomura is the artist for Kakegurui.
Amazon Prime released a live-action web series adaptation from March 26 to April 16, 2021. In addition, there was a video game adaptation Kakegurui: Cheating Allowed, but the servers shut down on March 27, 2020.
Why is the prequel Kakegurui Twin?
If you haven’t watched Kakegurui, then this is your spoiler alert. There is only one set of twins in Kakegurui.
Kirari and Ririka Momobami, the President and Vice President of the Student Council, and why the “housepet” system exists in the school; Kirari is the antagonist of Kakegurui and Ririka is usually on her side. But season two shows us a different side to Ririka.
She’s not content with living in her sister’s shadow and joins forces with Mary in the Election arc. Will we get to see more of the twins in Kakegurui Twin, or is there something else going on?
Both twins are interested in Mary. And what kind of games are we going to see in the prequel?
