The Hunter x Hunter return seems to be imminent. Series creator Yoshihiro Togashi has sent manga fans abuzz on Twitter with his latest mysterious post regarding the Hunter x Hunter hiatus. It appears that Hunter x Hunter 391 is finally on the horizon… in addition to at least three more chapters!
Anyone following the series, be it the manga or the anime, knows how long it’s been since there were any official updates to either. The last chapter, Hunter x Hunter 390, was released in November of 2018, leaving fans to wait almost four years without any new content.
Over the years, fans have wondered just when the franchise may come back and it seems they may not have to wonder for much longer as it seems the author may have just tweeted about new upcoming Hunter x Hunter manga chapters.
What exactly did Yoshihiro Togashi tweet?
The official tweet from the Hunter x Hunter author, though vague, definitely seems to hint at something special when it comes to the status of the Hunter x Hunter hiatus.
From what can be seen in the image, it appears to be a draft of a sketch. In the body of the tweet, he adds, “Four more chapters for now.”
Fans are hoping this means four new Hunter x Hunter chapters, but you can judge the tweet for yourself below.
Hunter x Hunter return confirmed by One Punch Man manga creator Yusuke Murata
Fans all over Twitter have been excited by this news, wondering just how believable it is. At the time of this article, there were already over 300,000 likes and 128,000 retweets with the numbers quickly multiplying.
The most telling of those retweets though came from Yusuke Murata, the author of the One Punch Man manga. He retweeted Yoshihiro Togashi’s tweet with a caption of his own saying, “I was the with the person himself”.
It’s easy to assume that “this person” is referring to Yoshihiro. If that’s the case, he’s all but helping to confirm that fans can definitely expect some Hunter x Hunter manga content soon.
